It’s that time of year again, everyone is cranky and crazy. Spending time with family we probably don’t want to see and some we really do. Spending lots of money, wondering how we will possibly bring it all together. All for those few fleeting moments of happiness before collapsing in a heap of burned out, tiered and over it exhaustion. I hope that isn’t just me!!
While feeling completely overwhelmed with the upcoming season, it occurred to me that perhaps the push to give back around this time of year is to keep in the forefront of our minds how fortunate we really are.
Being a transplant to Florida , I was shocked when we first arrived at how involved everyone seemed to be in the community. I never experienced the amount of volunteer opportunities as I have found here. There is literally something for everyone.
Personally, I have had the opportunity to volunteer my time with the Charlotte County Historical Center and Society and Crossroads Hope Academy. I hope to work with St. Vincent de Paul and Meals on Wheels in the future. Were ever your talents lie or whatever it is you are passionate about, there is an opportunity just waiting for you. And the need is great. Please take a few minutes to read through just some of the opportunities available.
